MACHC works diligently to monitor legislation and the state and federal level that impact health centers and the patients they serve. By taking into account the views and perspectives of our member health centers, MACHC is able to strongly advocate for policies that will support the goals of members at all levels. In order to ensure that the best possible legislative outcome is achieved, MACHC members are briefed weekly on legislative changes occurring at all levels and the potential impact they have on health centers and patients. Additionally, legislative resources are provided to all MACHC members prior to the beginning of the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC)’s Policy and Issues Forum, which occurs during the first quarter of each calendar year. Health Centers also participate in National Health Center Week (more details can be found on www.nachc.com
MACHC has been a mainstay in the health center advocacy movement and has been persistent in advocating for sustained federal funding for Community Health Centers, increased access to healthcare, raising awareness around the importance of behavioral health integration, and ensuring that all populations and individuals receive the care they need.
