Registration is closed for this event

This workshop is intended for all levels of nurses who seek knowledge and skills related to substance use screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment, known as SBIRT.

SBIRT is defined as a comprehensive, integrated, public health approach to the delivery of early intervention for individuals whose alcohol and/or drug use puts them at risk, and the timely referral to more intensive substance abuse treatment for those who have substance use disorders.

Participants will learn about and apply motivational interviewing skills, foundational for promoting behavior change.  Participants will engage in exercises to apply learning to practice.  The goal of the workshop is to increase participants’ knowledge, confidence, and skills in SBIRT delivery in their practice settings.
