One of the distinctive characteristics of FQHCs is the requirement of a governance board that has full authority and management over CHC operations. The board is a policy-making body, comprised primarily of community members, and is a key component in keeping the health center accountable to the population it serves.
At MACHC, we recognize the crucial role played by the Board of Directors of CHCs, especially in increasing access to new sites and services within underserved communities. As a result, the Mid-Atlantic Association of Community Health Centers has compiled resources below to support the efforts of our member Chief Executive Officers and their respective Board of Directors.
