The following list are upcoming trainings, technical assistance calls and meeting dates that may be of interest to your FQHC or Health Center. Not all the activities here are MACHC sponsored events - however each pertain to the work of community health centers.

FQHC Hepatitis C and TB Colloquium Series
This Colloquium has been created in efforts to address these needs and provide a forum for building community relationships that will facilitate proper care for our patients. This training module/forum will include FQHC clinicians and ALL other health personnel that participate in providing comprehensive services and management of these health conditions. This may include staff involved in, but not limited to, examining, evaluating, screening, diagnosing, treating, prescribing, and/or possessing any other knowledge of managing these disease processes.

Joint Commission EM Standards for Health Centers
The National Association of Community Health Centers is pleased to announce a no-cost webinar on Joint Commission EM Standards for Health Centers on February 11, 2010 at 2:00 PM ET. This 75 minute session is designed to provide an overview on the 2010 Ambulatory Care Standards for Emergency Management and will feature Jerry Gervais from the Joint Commission. Web Ex Call: Understanding the Meaning of Meaningful Use
This presentation will give attendees an understanding of the meaningful use criteria as it applies to their clinical setting. It will describe how the criteria evolved and how each element of the criteria supports the health outcomes priority policies. It will also discuss each of the elements as they apply to individual hospitals and clinics to identify what work will need to be done and who will be responsible for this work to not only achieve meaningful use as defined for 2011, but also to address the increasing requirements in later years.
Session Objectives
- Describe national health care goals underlying CMS incentives for meaningful use of health information technology
- Describe elements of the meaningful use framework that make up goals, objectives and measures
- List the types of activity that members of the health care team will need to do to qualify for meaningful use payments
Describe what hospitals and office practices can do now to achieve meaningful use and meet national health care quality goals
Speaker; Paul Kleeberg, MD, FAAFP, is an independent contractor focused on helping hospitals and clinics become meaningful users of electronic health records.
