La Red Health Center to Open New Health Care Facility

A few months from now, all the operations of LRHC in Georgetown will be under one roof in a 25,000-square-foot building under construction across the street from Del Tech.

West Cecil Health Center is Expanding

On October 24th, 2011 West Cecil Health Center broke ground and began construction of its new facility. The new facility will give West Cecil the ability to offer many new services including Family Practice Medicine and Behavioral Health with room to expand services that include Obstetrics, Dentistry and an On-Site Pharmacy.

Total Health Care Opens a New Site: Washington Village Health Center

On October 1, Total Health Care, Inc. closed its site located at the Bon Secours Family Care Center, 2000 W. Baltimore Street, Baltimore, MD and relocated its services to the Washington Village Medical Center, 700 Washington Blvd, Baltimore, MD. We are excited with the relocation, as it affords Total Health Care to expand its health services and provide a better environment for both staff and patients. At this new location, Total Health Care will provide pediatric and adult primary care services, behavioral and mental health, Ob/Gyn, HIV rapid testing and nutrition services. Total Health Care celebrated the opening of the Washington Village site on Saturday, October 22 by hosting a community open house, which included fun activities and health screenings.

Choptank Community Health System honored by the Maryland Partnership for Prevention and the Maryland Childhood Immunization Partnership

Choptank Community Health System was honored by the Maryland Partnership for Prevention and the Maryland Childhood Immunization Partnership for its efforts to promote health and outreach services for children in the community. The award was presented on June 14th at a luncheon held at the Sheraton Columbia Town Center Hotel in Columbia, MD.

La Red Health Center, Inc. Received A New Access Point Grant Award

HSS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced August 9th that La Red Health Center in Georgetown, Delaware is one of only 67 health centers across the country to receive New Access Point funding. Over $270,000 in new funding will be used for their Seaford, Delaware location. La Red opened their Seaford site during National Health Center Week in August, 2010.

Senator Carper Highlights Vital Role of Community Health Care Centers in Visit to La Red

On August 31, 2011, Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.) highlighted the critical role of federally-funded community health centers in providing an affordable, quality healthcare option for Delawareans regardless of their ability to pay. Sen. Carper visited La Red Health Center in Georgetown, Del. and met with patients and staff at the community health care center, which has been the recipient of federal funding.
