West Baltimore Primary Care Assessment Project Update

Phase One of the West Baltimore project just came to completion.  Phase one focused on data collection as well as stakeholder interviews.  The progress to date has included collection and organization of data from city, state, and national sources.  These data include demographic data, hospital discharge data, health status data, and other data sets. Additionally, over 30 key informant interviews have been collected from community providers and stakeholders.   Moreover, the process of conducting surveys of community members has begun, and over 200 surveys have been collected from West Baltimore community centers.  The contractor, John Snow, Inc., has also begun exploring the impact of the Affordable Care Act on the area.  In Phase Two, JSI will continue to collect surveys from community members and examine the impacts of the Affordable Care Act in the area.
