Henrietta Johnson Receieves Grant Funding and will Participate in Bank of America’s Neighborhood Excellence Leadership Program®

At an event on October 14, 2011 sponsored by the Bank of America, Henrietta Johnson Medical Center has been named a 2011 Delaware Neighborhood Builders® in the nonprofit category of the Neighborhood Excellence Initiative. The organization will receive $200,000 in unrestricted grant funding and participate in Bank of America’s Neighborhood Excellence Leadership Program® with other nonprofit leaders from 45 communities across the country and from London. Only two non-profits each year in Delaware are awarded this coveted grant. Congratulations to the staff and board of Henrietta Johnson for being singled out for this distinction.

Henrietta Johnson Medical Center Hosted a Senior Symposium

Over 55 individuals attended the As We Grow Older Senior Health Care Symposium on October 8, 2011 sponsored by Henrietta Johnson Medical Center.   Topics included expired prescriptions, hoarding, patient home care, the process of aging, Tai Chi demonstration, keeping your memory healthy as well as diabetes, cholesterol, and blood pressure screenings.  The keynote speaker was HJMC Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Charles Case. Partners and supporters of the symposium included Christiana Care and St. Francis Hospitals, Dynamic Physical Therapy, Healthy Wilmington 2020, and Shoprite of Delaware among others.

The mission of the Henrietta Johnson Medical Center, is to respond to the health care needs of its community by providing quality family-oriented, comprehensive, primary health care services including preventive services. These services are provided to anyone who needs them in a confidential culturally sensitive manner, regardless of the ability to pay.
