Choptank has Expanded Its Primary Care and Women's Health Program to the Denton Medical Center

Choptank Community Health System Inc. (CCHS) has expanded its primary care and women's health program to its Denton Medical Center.

On Sept. 6th, Dr. John J. LaFerla joined the Choptank medical team. LaFerla sees patients in the Denton Medical Center on Tuesday mornings. Appointments are available from 8 to 11:30 a.m. LaFerla will continue to see patients at the Goldsboro Medical and Dental Center on the second and fourth Fridays of each month. Patients who wish to make an appointment with LaFerla may do so by calling Denton Medical Center at 410-476-2650 or Goldsboro Medical and Dental Center at 410-634-2380.

LaFerla has been in practice on the Eastern Shore since 2001, with offices in Chestertown and Centreville. In addition to his role at CCHS, he continues his practice in Centreville. He also serves as the deputy health officer for medical affairs at the Talbot County Health Department.

CCHS first began offering women's health specialty services in 2005 with the addition of Dr. Kevin Kearney and the opening of the Women's Health Center in Cambridge. Kearney remains the only gynecologist with an office in Dorchester County.

For hours and location information, contact John Strube, chief marketing and development officer, at 410-228-4045, ext. 7030 or visit www.choptankhealth.org.
