Board Governance
One of the distinctive characteristic of federally qualified health centers is the requirement of a governance board that has full authority and management over health center operations. The board is a policy-making body constituted primarily of community members and is a key component in keeping the health center answerable to the population it serves.
At MACHC, we recognize the crucial role played by the Board of Directors of Community Health Centers, especially in increasing access to new sites and services within underserved communities. As a result, the Mid-Atlantic Association of Community Health Centers has put together a number of resources to support the efforts of our member Chief Executive Officers and their respective Board of Directors.
